Engaged, and Discouraged.

Being engaged is suppose to be one of the happiest times in our lives, and yet, it seems there is always someone or something that tries to destroy our spirit. When people get engaged, problems seem to come up such as family disagreements, religious beliefs, and judgments. Yet, we are not able to please everyone and that makes it even harder and frustrating.

I have experienced those situations and they are very discouraging. It's almost like practicing basketball, we try so hard to improve but then we sprain our ankle or someone puts us down about our ability. Doesn't that make you want to give up?

It makes me feel that way sometimes but then I remember to look to God through hard times and remember that He is in control of all the things that happen in my life (Romans 8:28). That's encouraging to me because I know without God, I am not able to find that peace I need during hard times, and I know that if I trust Him He will not let my life spiral out of control (even when it feels that way).

So, when you feel discouraged, remember to cast all your cares on Him (1 Peter 5:7). He gives us a peace and love that no one else can provide. (John 14:27)
