Have You Accepted God's Gift of Love, Salvation through His Son Jesus Christ? Tell Me More
With the clock counting down, I could only sit watching for a miracle comeback... yet the comeback was nowhere in sight.
Engaged, and Discouraged.
Being engaged is suppose to be one of the most wonderful times of a person's life... and yet it seems even in the happiest of moments someone or something is still trying to bring us down...
Everything You Need
With the current economic situation, times are tough. It is times like these that make us wonder what we are going to do, and where we will find the things we need. In this devotion, Rod Smith tells of how when times were tough, someone a little bit more powerful took care of Rod's needs, just as He will yours...
Christmas is the story of true love... a story about a God who loved us enough to send His Son to die for us, knowing the price He was paying...
God's Unfailing Promises
When things seem to be going badly, we often wonder where God is, and if He is really going to keep His promises. The truth is, God not only keeps His promises, but does it in a way that is more amazing and wonderful than we could ever imagine... even if at the moment it seems He has completely forgotten about us...
With so many challenges in life, it is very easy for us to want to take charge and try to handle everything ourselves, but in the end we find ourselves worse off, and crying for the Help of the Lord, who is always faithful...
A Winter Snow
When we look at things, we often see what they currently are, and not what they can be. The same holds true for people, but God is able to take even below freezing temperatures and make them into something beautiful...
Should We Fear Death?
Death is something that continuously intrigues the human mind... so much so that we are surrounded by movies concerning the afterlife, books explaining the afterlife, and even philosophers trying to explain it... yet there's one Book that gives a clear definition, and tells whether we as Christians should be fearful of what many claim to be "the unknown..."
Sometimes it isn't easy for us to trust God, and these are usually the times where we need to trust Him the most...
I Will Come to You
Have you ever felt like no one understands you, or that you are all alone? Have you ever wondered what to do next, or even if it was worth the struggle?
Satan Runs Faster
We all have areas of failure, whether it is noticeable by others or not. We all fall short of the glory of God, and fall to temptations. And it seems that Satan is right there, continuously telling us that we "cannot defeat him."
God, Are You Listening?
Have you ever prayed to God for something, only to be left wondering if God was even listening?
Forgiving Your "Dr. Mengele"
I think in almost everyone's life, there is at least one person you absolutely do not want to forgive. One person who has said something, or done something to you or someone very close...
Where did God Go???
Sometimes we feel out of touch with God, or we look at all of the terrible things happening in the world and ask how a loving God could let them happen... sometimes we wonder if God is really keeping His promises, and if He is still even there...
With gas prices around $4 a gallon, foreclosures on the rise, and the price of necessities such as food and electricity increasing, many families are struggling to survive. Struggling to keep food on the table, and a roof over their heads... and some families are at the breaking point, a point where they are waiting for the final notice on their home. A point where they are asking "how a loving God could let this happen..."
1 Corinthians 15:12-34
Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen: And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not. For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all. Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead? And why stand we in jeopardy every hour? I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die. Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
