Mormon Belief Comparison

Our Belief Mormon Belief
The Bible is the Word of God The Bible was at one time accurate, however it has been warped by men... the Book of Mormon is instead the "most accurate book" and is "pure" in its form. [source]
There is one God There are multiple Gods and we can become like God. [source]
The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 in one The idea of the trinity (tri-unity) is heresy, Jesus was a man, the Son of God... but not God in the flesh. The Holy Spirit is also its own entity and is separate from God. [source]
Man was created in the Image of God God Himself looks physically like us, only perfect and immortal. [source]
Salvation is received by faith in Jesus Christ (life, death, and resurrection) and not by our works Salvation can only be obtained if a person is baptized and comes through receiving the Holy Spirit by the laying of hands. Good works are required in order to keep our salvation and earn our way to the highest Heaven. [source] [source2]
All who believe in Christ become Children of God We are already spirit children of God, descended from Heaven to prove our worth. [source]
As Christians we are to abide by the standards set in the Holy Bible We are to abide by the standards of the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, AND the Pearl of Great Price. [source]
No man can contradict/ edit the Word of God The Prophet receives the latest commandments from God. These new revelations come frequently, such as the abandonment of polygamy and the mark of sin (dark skin color), and must be followed. [source]
Notes: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is not affiliated with the Fundamental Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, better known as the polygamist camp in Texas. The two churches split after the death of Joseph Smith and when the main church discontinued the polygamist lifestyle as lived by its early founders. The main difference between the two churches is due to the revelations of the prophets, whereas the main church has adapted to more "socially acceptable" standards over time (including the change in belief regarding dark people bearing the Mark of Cain).
