Church of the Great God
Belief |
| The Bible is the Word of God |
"The written Word of God, the Holy Bible, constitutes the revelation of God to man" |
|
| There is one God |
"God is the eternal, omniscient, omnipresent, supreme, all-powerful, creating, ruling and life-giving spirit Family (elohim)... its overall purpose is to expand the Family... Presently, the God Family consists of God the Father and God the Son." |
|
| The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are 3 in one |
The Father and Son are two separate individuals working together in a similar fashion to that of a husband and wife. Working in a family function, it is God's purpose of bringing multiple billions [ie people] into itself. |
|
| Man was created in the Image of God |
"Humans, created male and female in God's image and mortal, are physical beings whose life is in the blood." |
|
| Salvation is received by faith in Jesus Christ (life,
death, and resurrection) and not by our works |
"Though salvation cannot be earned through works of the law, the keeping of the ten commandments [and God's other commandments] is nonetheless required as a condition to receive [and keep your] salvation." |
|
| All who believe in Christ become Children of God |
Along with believing, in order to become a child of God you must be baptized by immersion in water (unless water baptism is not possible for some reason), and keep all of God's commandments. |
|
| As Christians we are to abide by the standards set in the Holy Bible |
The
Bible provides instruction on how to live our lives in a holy and righteous
fashion according to the will of God. |
|
| No man can contradict/ edit the Word of God |
We
believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, and as such is sufficicent
and cannot be contradicted. |

Notes: The Church of the Great God (cgg.org) is best known for its website, TheBerean.org, as well as its other online publications. At first appearing to be a sound Christian website, the Church of the Great God denies key doctrines such as the singularity of God, the Trinity, Salvation through Faith alone, and denial of an eternal Hell, among others.
Status: this article is undisputed.
